Hello Catholic Utah Community! We hope you are having a blessed Lent!

Upcoming Events planned by Catholic Utah:

Theology Uncorked for ages 25-55
Our next Theology Uncorked speaking event will take place on May 9 with Catholic author, speaker, and radio host Jon Leonetti.  Spots will be limited for this event and we ask that only "in-between adults" register to attend.  Theology Uncorked is intended to bring together peers for support, community, and theology.  If you'd like to find out more about the why behind our age limit, please visit our website.  Details for registration will be coming soon!

Feeding the homeless at St. Vincent DePaul Dining Hall

We are looking for more volunteers to sign up to serve meals to the homeless.  The following dates and times are available.  Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and be age 13 and older.

April 23:  Lunch service from 11-1
May 21: Dinner service from 4:30-6:30

If you are available and interested in serving the homeless, please click here to sign up.  Thank you for your help!

Other Catholic Events We've Heard About:

St. Mary's in Park City Event:
On April 5-6, St Mary's in Park City is hosting best-selling author, Fr. Gaitley, for a Lenten retreat on Mary, Divine Mercy.  This is a huge deal--he only accepts a few invitations each year and it is pretty exciting that he has chosen to come to Utah!  A few of us from the Catholic Utah Team have already registered and we would love to see some familiar faces there!  To learn more about Fr. Gaitley and this event, check out the Intermountain Catholic  from last weekend--there is a great article about this event and how much it can help us in "bringing the faith from head to heart to life."  To register and find out more, please click here.

St. Catherine of Siena Events (all events are free and open to the public):
Monday-Wednesday, March 25-27, at 6:30 pm:  Come to a Lenten on-site retreat for busy people preached by Fr. Christopher Gray, SThD, at St. Catherine's. It's titled 'Lamentations: Is It Just My Life That Sucks?'  This event is open to all. Fr. Gray will preach at all weekend masses March 23-24. The retreat will continue with talks and chanted prayer Monday through Wednesday.

Thursday, April 4 at 6:30pm:
Catherine's of Siena will host speaker Dr. Denis McNamara from the Liturgical Institute.  He will present on How To Make A Church "Look Like" A Church: Sacramental Theology of Church Buildings.  Dr. McNamara is an architect and art historian (Yale University, University of Virginia), teacher, speaker, and author of multiple books and articles. His academic specialties include the theology of liturgical art and architecture, classicism, and sacramental aesthetics. He co-founded the Liturgical Institute at Mundelein with our very own Msgr. Mannion.

Friday, April 5 at 4pm:  Dr. McNamara will give a class/tour of the Cathedral, explaining sacramental symbols and architectural traditions.

Pregnancy Resource Center Event:

On March 25, 26, and 27 at 7pm, the Pregnancy Resource Center is offering a FREE preview screening of the movie "Unplanned" at different locations throughout the valley each night.  Tickets are free, but must be reserved by clicking here.

Thank you for working with us to build a Catholic Utah!
