Volunteer Opportunities:
A few spots remain available for serving meals to the homeless at the St. Vincent DePaul Dining Hall. Sign up for this wonderful opportunity to connect with others and put your faith into action.

Dinner on Sunday, October 27th from 4:30 to 6:30pm

Catholic Utah Book Club for our mid-20's to mid-50's "In-Between" Community:
Our Catholic Utah book club reads Catholic books and plans to meet 4 times per year. This is a very relaxed and casual group, so even if you only aim to come once per year, we’d love to have you! Consider joining us to help motivate you to study your faith this year. To get on the list for book club, email Gracie at gepalomb@gmail.com. Our next book is Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. We will meet to discuss this book on Wednesday, October 23rd.

Other Events We've Heard About:

Carmelite Fair and 'Run for the Nuns' 5k.
Sunday, September 15th from 11am to 5pm--Come together with Catholics from around the diocese for this really fun fair that includes good food, games for kids, auctions, and a 5k that starts at 8am. There is also a golf outing planned for September 22nd! Shuttles are available for parking areas nearby. To find out more and register for the 5k or golf tournament, click here.

ACTS (Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service) Retreats:
This is a Catholic retreat put on by lay parishioners focused on building a faith-filled community using the pillars of Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. The men's retreat is October 3-6 and the women's retreat is November 7-10. These retreats run 3 days and 3 nights, Thursday evening through Sunday evening, and the cost is $195 (full or partial scholarships are available). To register or find out more, click here.

Wine and Cheese Social for Catholic Married Couples:
Looking for a way to put your faith into action with your spouse? The Catholic Engaged Encounter ministry serves the entire diocese and is looking for Catholic married couples who are interested in helping engaged couples prepare for Marriage. This ministry is flexible and will work with whatever time you have to give! Find out more at a wine and cheese social on Saturday, September 28th from 6-10pm at Blessed Sacrament Youth Center! Holy Hour at the Carmelite Monastery:
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Rosary, a Homily, and Benediction takes place at 3pm on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the Carmelite Monastery in Holladay. The next dates for this Holy Hour are September 22, October 20, November 17, and December 15. Some "in-between" adults have started attending this regularly and encourage others to join them! This is OPEN TO ALL!

National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children Prayer Service:
Join together on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11am at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery to say a rosary and prayers for the victims of abortion. Main Entrance: 4th Avenue at T St - Mausoleum. You can park along the cemetery road. Chairs, shade, and water will be provided. To find out more, click here.

32nd Annual Knights of Columbus Life Chain:
On Sunday, October 6 from 1-2pm, people will gather for a one-hour peaceful silent prayer vigil for the health and safety of the unborn at the intersection of 10600 S and State Street in Sandy, UT. This event is being held at the same time in cities across the country. Volunteers will be asked to stand on the sidewalk near this intersection for one hour of silent prayer. The Knights will provide signs, but everyone is welcome to bring their own. The event is family-oriented, peaceful, and respectful. There will be nothing graphic or provocative. There will also be no publicly-led prayers. Everyone will be asked to pray silently. We'd encourage members of our Catholic Utah community to attend and join with other Catholics at this meaningful event!

Events at St Mary's in Park City:
"Weekly Way of Christ Talk and Meal" every Thursday evening at 6:30pm--Come September 12th for a special guest speaker, Luke Heintschel, an adjunct professor of theology at John Paul the Great Catholic University. His topic is 'Baptism & Confirmation: New Life in Christ." Consider bringing a meal, dessert, or drink to share.

St Mary's is also now offering Latin Mass at 3pm every Sunday at St. Mary's Old Town Chapel, and *NEW* Young Adult Mass, free meal, and talk every Friday 6:30-9pm at St. Mary's Old Town Chapel starting September 13th with "How to Discern and Live Out a Vocation." Events at St. Vincent DePaul Parish:
Women's Bible Study,
The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation, begins September 17, 2019. Participants will gather on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:30am through April 14th in the Benvegnu Center.
